BetaShares opens WA office with new hire

BetaShares has appointed Brendan Prowse to lead sales and client servicing efforts in Western Australia.

Prowse joins from Vanguard, where he worked for 11 years as a business development manager.

Before that, he was a regional sales manager at Zurich Financial Services Australia and an associate director of business development at Fidelity Investments.

Earlier, he worked for 16 years at AMP in a similar role.

Prowse  started his career in 1987 as a trader at McKinley Wilson Stockbrokers.

"BetaShares has been fortunate to benefit from strong growth, and Brendan's appointment allows us to expand our presence in Western Australia by adding a dedicated resource for the more than 1,700 financial advisers in that state," said the funds chief executive Alex Vynokur.

For his part, Prowse said he was looking forward to educating financial advisers about the benefits of ETFs as part of a growing team.

"BetaShares has the most extensive and compelling range of ETFs in the Australian market, and it's great to be joining the team at such an exciting time for the business and industry more generally," he added.

Currently, the fund has more than $22 billion in assets under management.
