BetaShares appoints Assistant Portfolio Manager
ETF manager BetaShares has appointed Chamath De Silva as an assistant portfolio manager.
De Silva has almost a decade of experience working for the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) in Australia and the UK. Most recently, he was a senior analyst for RBA's International Financial Markets in Sydney. Prior to this, he worked in London as a senior dealer in investments, and within the RBA's International Department.
De Silva will be joined by fellow new recruit, and former associate adviser at Bell Potter Securites, Adam O'Connor, who has been appointed to the role of manager - distribution.
Commenting on De Silva and O'Connor's appointments, BetaShares' MD Alex Vynokur said: "The ETF industry is growing rapidly. Our new appointments will help us meet this commitment, and we welcome Chamath and Adam to the BetaShares team."
