Bennelong creates new distribution role

Bennelong Funds Management has announced the appointment of David Whitby to the newly-created position of director wholesale sales, NSW, effective 28 August 2017.

In this role, Whitby is responsible for providing additional support to high net worth and independent advisory groups, aligned planners and key accounts. He reports to head of wholesale sales, Jonas Daly.

Whitby has more than 20 years' industry experience and was most recently with BetaShares as an account manager, a role that he had held since July 2015. He has also worked in sales and account management roles with global investment firm GMO and Vertex Capital, and started his career at BT Funds Management in Sydney.

Commenting on Whitby's appointment, Daly said that it supports the continuing growth of the business as it builds its quality investment product range and platform availability.

"David's appointment ensures we have the team in place to continue working closely with financial advisers and provide them with the resources and support they require to build portfolios."
