BLSEM appoints Senior Investment Analyst

Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has appointed Justin Hay as a senior investment analyst, to further strengthen its investment capability within the business.

Hay joins from Optimal Fund Management Australia where he was also a senior investment analyst. In this role, Hay undertook fundamental research on equities, provided portfolio management support and analysed macro-economic factors as a member of the research team for the Optimal Australia Absolute Return Trust.

Prior to this he worked as an executive director of institutional research sales with Goldman Sachs Australia. He has over 18 years' experience in the securities industry, including six years in London working for Goldman Sachs International.

Commenting on Hay's appointment, BLSEM principal and director, Richard Fish, said he was delighted that the "boutique business was able to attract someone with Hay's talent."

Hay's appointment follows the June appointment of analyst, Daniel Sanelli.
