Barrenjoey Capital Partners has further bolstered its sales team with two new hires.

Sam Webb joins from Credit Suisse, where he was director of institutional equity sales.

He will work alongside Chad Mikhael and Daniella Crollini in the small caps team.

"His appointment expands our coverage of emerging companies with a focus on the resources sector," a Barrenjoey spokesperson said.

"Sam brings a wealth of expertise across this sector."

Before his 12 years at Credit Suisse -  where he worked mostly as the lead resources analyst -  he was a consultant at EY specialising in mergers and acquisitions.

Barrenjoey has also appointed Angus McGeoch as head of Asia distribution - the firm's first 'international' hire for its equities business.

McGeoch joins from CLSA, where he was country head.
Earlier in his career, he spent two years at Jefferies, two years at Argonaut, and four years at Bell Potter Securities.

Barrenjoey said both recruits are on gardening leave and should be starting in July.

The investment bank recently hired Peter Watson to focus on clients in the resources sector.

Separately,  Credit Suisse has hired RBC Capital Markets investment banker Adam Reid as its new head of metals and mining sector coverage for Australia, according to reports.
