Baillie joins MLC Life

TAL's former head of actuarial, Robert Baillie, has joined MLC Life Insurance as general manager of capital management and corporate finance. In his new role, Baillie will be responsible for the company's capital management including treasury, corporate finance, business planning, and reinsurance strategy.

He's joined by Lesley Mamelok, who has been named GM of finance and deputy CFO. Both will report to CFO Kent Griffin, who was excited to welcome them to the organisation. "They are talented individuals and have a wealth of experience in the life insurance industry, which will be invaluable in supporting our strategic direction. Our sector is undergoing significant change. We are bringing in the right expertise to help us navigate these challenges and continue to deliver on the promises we make to our customers and business partners."

Before joining TAL in 2015, Baillie spent several years with AMP as director of pricing, banking, and wealth management. He also spent nearly 15 years with AXA as head of wealth management, pricing, and risk. He's also spent time with ING and started his career with Australian Eagle Life Insurance.
