Craig Lamb has been appointed chief investment officer at Avant Mutual, joining from AIA Australia, where he ran investment strategy.
As investment head, Lamb is responsible for managing Avant's investments of $2 billion and leading the investments and treasury team.
Lamb was head of investment strategy at Comminsure from December 2013 to April 2021. At that time, the Commonwealth Bank-owned insurer was acquired by AIA Australia.
Before that, he led the investment team at Suncorp for almost four years and ran portfolio solutions at Tyndall AM for the three years previously.
Earlier, Lamb worked at Henderson Global, National Provident Life, and AMP.
"I'm excited about the new role and I look forward to working with the rest of the Investments Team at Avant to drive better investment outcomes for Avant's members," said Lamb.
Separately, John Archer has been named as AIA Australia's acting head of investment strategy.
For 16 years, Archer was executive manager of investment strategy.
