Australian Unity appoints Head of Commercial Business

Australian Unity has announced the appointment of Shantini Nair as head of commercial business within the firm's investments business.

According to Australian Unity, Nair has "an extensive background" in funds management, fund formation and capital raising across a broad range of asset classes, having worked in Australia and London.

Nair commenced her carer at Henderson Global Investors and has since held senior roles at BT Funds Management and AMP Capital.

She joins fellow new-recruit, George Cupac, who has been appointed as Australian Unity's head of private markets and institutional clients.

Geraldine Barlow, Australian Unity's executive general manager of investments said that customer demand, particularly in the area of sustainable investing, is "driving significant growth" for the business, and that the appointments of Cucap and Nair are "key to cementing [the firm's] next phase of growth and further aligning [its] investment capability with the needs of clients and with the broader Australian Unity Group."
