Ausbil Investment management chief executive Ross Youngman will retire in the third quarter of 2023, succeeded by Mark Knight.

Youngman has served the $15 billion fund's chief since 2017 after joining the firm in 2015.

During his time, Ausbil has successfully introduced new global strategies and business systems and has overseen significant growth in funds under management.

Before joining the asset manager, Youngman held many senior management roles, including chief executive of Five Oceans Asset Management - an international funds management business he co-founded in 2005 - and Deutsche Asset Management in Australia.

He also worked for Bankers Trust in several management roles.

His replacement Mark Knight - the head of distribution - will take the helm next April .

Knight has held senior positions at Ausbil since 2004.

The asset manager will immediately start looking for a new distribution head.

Paul Xiradis, executive chair and investment chief, thanked Youngman for his leadership and wished him all the best for his "well-earned retirement."

Youngman said: "It has been very satisfying to work closely with our clients, both domestically and internationally, and the talented group of executives during my time at Ausbil. I wish the firm and my colleagues all the very best for the future."
