Date: March 2020
Position: Head of Marketing and Brand Strategy

ANZ has appointed Kjetil Undhjem as their new head of marketing and brand strategy, replacing Carolyn Bendall, who left in late 2019 to become CMO of Swinburne University of Technology.

In addition to his marketing duties across the retail and commercial arms of the bank, Undhjem will lead the organisation's Centre of Excellence.

ANZ CMO Sweta Mehra said, "I have no doubt his broad skill set will be a welcome addition to our Australia business and build a new chapter of marketing excellence and commercial acumen."

Undhjem joins from Mondelez International where he looked after several of the company's chocolate brands across several European markets. He also looked after global marketing for Kraft Foods Group for several years while based out of London and Stockholm.

In a statement, Undhjem says his understanding of what drives consumer behaviour in the food and beverage space will be useful in consumer banking. "I'm excited to be heading up the passionate and proud Marketing and Brand Strategy team for Australia. I look forward to the challenge of navigating the changes occurring in the financial services sector - particularly technology disruption and new competitors.

"The competitiveness and customer obsession I've experienced in consumer goods will form a solid platform for the changes ANZ is working through."
