ANZ ETFS appoints new Head

ANZ ETFS Management has announced the appointment of Kris Walesby as head of ANZ ETFS, effective 10 October 2015. Walesby is currently the head of capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at London-based Invesco Powershares. Before this he worked for a number of ETF and asset management firms including ETF Securities Ltd, Deutsche Bank and BlackRock.

His appointment follows the departure of Danny Laidler, ANZ ETFS co-head and head of distribution, and Adam Smith, ANZ ETFS co-head and chief operating officer, who both played a role in setting up the joint venture and launching the first suite of products on the Australian Securities Exchange. Following this initial roll-out, according to the firm, they have decided to pursue other opportunities.
