ANZ has announced that group chief operating officer, Alistair Currie, will be stepping down from the role later this year with plans to continue his international banking career.
News of his departure aligns with the announcement of changes to the group's operating model for technology, operations and shared services.
Currie joined ANZ in 2008 and led the creation of ANZ's regional transaction banking business and in 2011 he was appointed to the role of COO.
Commenting on Currie's pending departure and changes to the operational model, chief executive officer, Shayne Elliott said: "This progress highlights the importance of Alistair's contribution to ANZ...I understand Alistair's desire to further his international banking career, and I thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future."
