ANZ appoints new Group Executive, International

In a statement from ANZ, chief executive officer Shayne Elliot has announced changes to the bank's senior leadership team including the appointment of Farhan Faruqui as group executive, International.

Faruqui will report to newly installed group executive, institutional, Mark Whelan and will be based in Hong Kong. He will have responsibility for ANZ's institutional business in Asia, Europe and America and will also join ANZ's executive committee.

Before joining ANZ in 2014 as CEO International banking, Faruqui pent nearly 25 years at Citi and held a number of senior executive roles including head of Asia corporate and investment banking, head of global loans and leveraged finance, Asia Pacific, and corporate banking head, Central Europe.
