National Australia Bank (NAB) has announced the appointment of Andrew Gale as a non-executive director to its superannuation fund trustee, NULIS Nominees (Australia) Limited, effective immediately.

The NULIS board is responsible for NAB's superannuation funds, including the MLC Super Fund and products such as Plum, MasterKey Super, MasterKey and Wrap.

Gale has 35 years' experience in the financial services industry, including roles as executive director of Chase Corporate Advisory, CEO and managing director of Count Financial Limited, and managing partner of Deloitte Actuaries & Consultants.

He is an independent non-executive director of the NAB Advice & Licenses board and a member of its investment committee. He is also a member of the Super Wrap and IDPS investment committee and the MasterKey and Plum investment committee.

He is joined by Alan Schoenheimer who was also appointed to the NULIS board in November.

Commenting on their appointments, chair of the NULIS board, Nicole Smith, said: "Andrew and Alan are highly experienced and knowledgeable, with strong backgrounds in financial services...both will be great assets to the fund and make valuable contributions to the governance of Australia's largest retail super fund."
