AMP Chief Risk Officer - Advice steps down

AMP has confirmed to Industry Moves the departure of chief risk officer - advice, Pally Bargri, effective July 2018.

Bargri, who first joined AMP in 2014 as a senior manager - customer solutions and strategy, was appointed to the role in May 2015.

In a note to his LinkedIn network, Bargri said of his decision to depart, that when considering the "energy and commitment" AMP required of him, he had "insufficient capacity to carry through the important task of navigating the days and months ahead."

He added: "I am immensely proud of all that my teams and I have achieved, and the privilege and honour I've had of working with some intelligent, committed and loyal people. Perhaps the ambiguity of what I'll do next, and the uncertainty about the opportunity that lies ahead, is a nice challenge to have. But for now, I look forward to sharing all I have with my two girls, as I begin to contemplate what may be next."

A spokesperson for AMP said that Bargri had "focused on delivering a new approach to compliance for the advice business" and that an external and internal search for his successor, led by chief risk officer Jenny Fagg, had commenced.
