Alphinity recruits a quant

Alphinity Investment Management has strengthened its quantitative research and trading capabilities with the appointment of Nick Ying as a quant analyst and trader.

Ying has worked as a portfolio management analyst and trader at several Sydney-based fund managers, most recently at Redpoint Investment Management and NAB/MLC Asset Management.

Previous firms include Dimension Fund Advisers and FX Vantage.

Alphinity aims to deliver consistent outperformance for investors by investing in quality, undervalued companies with underestimated forward earnings expectations. These companies are identified through detailed analyst-driven fundamental research and specific targeted quantitative inputs.

Alphinity's head of trading, Andrew Taylor, and the head of quantitative analysis, Richard Hitchens, said the addition of Ying expands the expertise and bandwidth of the research and trading team.

"Nick is an experienced and highly credentialled investment professional skilled in programming and quantitative research, analysis and development and database management. In addition, he has extensive experience in driving change and automating investment processes, all of which we will lean on as we seek to outperform our investors," said Hitchens.
