Allianz Retire+ appoints former IRESS Group Executive as CEO

Allianz Retire+ Powered by PIMCO (Allianz Retire+), a retirement income firm recently launched as a joint venture by Allianz and PIMCO, has announced Matthew Rady as its chief executive officer.

In his new role, Rady will be responsible for leading Allianz Retire+'s business in Australia, including launching its first retirement income product later this year. He replaces Adrian Stewart, head of PIMCO Australia and New Zealand, who has been acting as interim CEO and will now become a non-executive director on the Allianz Retire+ board.

In welcoming Rady, Stewart said: "Matt is an exceptional executive with the industry expertise, client orientation and leadership skills to position Allianz Retire+ for long-term success."

Rady has over 25 years' investment and financial services experience, including his most recent role as group executive, financial markets at IRESS. Before this, he was an executive director at Macquarie Group, where he worked for 18 years in a variety of senior roles including head of banking and financial services in North America and head of Macquarie Global Investments.

Allianz Retire+ has also announced the appointment of three independent non-executive directors: David Plumb, who will serve as chair; Patria Mann; and the Hon Bernie Ripoll.
