Allianz Australia has created a new personal injury division, merging the worker's compensation, long-tail CTP, and life teams.

Julie Mitchell, who has held several roles across more than two decades with the organisation, will serve as chief general manager of the personal injury division.

A spokesperson for Allianz Australia told Industry Moves, "Allianz recently merged its Workers Compensation teams, CTP Claims, Life/Consumer Credit Insurance and Injury Management, Health and Wellbeing teams into a newly formed national Personal Injury Division supporting customers on their recovery journey. Servicing these functions within one division will enable the teams to leverage scale, expertise and create a personal injury centre of excellence.

"Allianz is pleased to announce the new Personal Injury Division will be headed up by Julie Mitchell who was the Chief General Manager, Workers Compensation."

"I look forward to working with our dedicated personal injury team - as well as government regulators and partners - to meet our partners and customers' evolving needs."

Mitchell spent the last year as the chief GM of Allianz' worker's compensation division. She started with Allianz in 2000 as an injury management advisor. Before joining Allianz, Mitchel held project roles at WorkCover NSW and with the Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service.
