Air Vice Marshall Tony Needham has been appointed to the board of the Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC), effective 1 July 2016.
He is a nominee of the Chief of Defence Force, deputy chair of the MilitarySuper Reconsideration Committee, and deputy chair of the Defence Force Case Assessment Panel
He is also a member of the Royal Australian Air Force Active Reserve, following a career spanning three decades in the permanent Air Force. His military service included holding the position of head of people capability, Department of Defence, and deputy commander, Joint Task Force 633, Middle East. He also served as a commissioner of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission and chair of the Defence Force Recruiting Board of Management.
He is joined on the CSC board by fellow new directors, Garry Hounsell and Sunil Kemppi.
Commenting on all three appointments, CSC chair Patricia Cross said: "I congratulate Garry Hounsell, Sunil Kemppi and Air Vice Marshall Tony Needham on their appointments to the CSC Board - their diverse range of skills and experience will complement the expertise of the other seven Directors that continue their terms on the Board."
The three new directors replace John McCullagh, Dr Michael Vertigan and Peter Feltham, whose terms expired on 30 June 2016.
