AIA Australia names new CFO

AIA Australia has announced the appointment of Michael Chernov as the firm's new chief financial officer for Australia and New Zealand, effective June 2017.

Chernov has over 18 years' experience in the life insurance industry across Australia and the UK. He joined AIA Australia in 2009 and has held senior roles in the actuarial, finance and strategy teams. He was most recently head of strategy & business analytics.

Prior to joining AIA Australia, Chernov gained experience in both consulting and reinsurance with roles at Munich Re (UK), Deloitte (UK and Australia) and Trowbridge Consulting (Australia).

Other announced changes to AIA Australia's executive team include the appointment of Tim Tez, former chief marketing officer, to the newly-created role of chief strategy officer for Australia and New Zealand, and the appointment of Harry Efthimiou, former chief finance and strategy officer, to the newly-created role of chief health insurance officer.
