AIA Australia names Chief Strategy Officer

AIA Australia has announced the appointment of Tim Tez to the newly-created role of chief strategy officer, effective June 2017.

In this role, Tez is responsible for strategy, corporate affairs and government relations.

Tez has 17 years' experience in the life insurance industry with a background in distribution, operations, strategy, reinsurance, product, pricing, marketing, strategy and government relations. He was previously AIA Australia's chief marketing officer from 2009-2014 and has also worked for MetLife where he was chief product & marketing officer from December 2014 until December 2016.

Other announced changes to AIA Australia's executive team include former chief finance and strategy officer, Harry Efthimiou, moving into the newly-created role of chief health insurance officer and former head of strategy and business analytics, Michael Chernov, moving into the role of chief financial officer.
