Afterpay CTO joins UBank

UBank has appointed Afterpay's Jon Donoghue as its new chief information officer.

Donoghue left Afterpay in April of this year. He had been the chief technology officer for more than three years.

In hew new role, Donoghue will look after UBank and will sit in NAB's tech and enterprise operations division, reporting to NAB technology and enterprise operations group executive Patrick Wright.

"Jon joining our team is another step forward in our transformation to creating a simpler and fater bank, to deliver better experiences for our UBank customers," said Wright in a statement.

Before joining Afterpay, Donoghue was the CIO of UBS' Asia Pacific markets and investment banking, and the CIO for Australia and New Zealand. He spent more than 20 years with the organisation.

"I'm excited to be joining NAB as it continues its technology transformation to provide a simple, secure and personalised banking experience for customers," said Donoghue.
