The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has appointed Heather Gray as the lead ombudsman for the superannuation sector.

AFCA chief executive David Locke announced the appointment along with Natalie Cameron as lead ombudsman for investments and advice. "Together, Natalie and Heather bring considerable experience and exceptional knowledge in insurance, superannuation and investments to AFCA."

Grey is an experienced law firm partner, coming from Hall and Wilcox where she spent nearly seven years as a partner specialising in the superannuation industry. She has consulted for ASIC, APRA, the ATO, and Treasury on superannuation issues.

She also has experience as a chartered tax adviser and spent more than a decade on the Law Council of Australia's superannuation committee.

"Heather is well recognised as an expert in superannuation law and practice and a leader in her field. She joins an already strong superannuation team at AFCA," Locke said.
