8IP appoints Geoff Wilson to board as part of partnership with WAM

Eight Investment Partners (8IP) has announced the appointment of Wilson Asset Management (WAM) chair and founder, Geoff Wilson, as a director on the 8IP Emerging Companies' board (8EC).

Wilson's appointment follows news that WAM has entered into a strategic partnership to support 8EC. WAM and its associates are shareholders in 8EC.

Wilson has over 37 years' direct experience in Australian and International investment markets and co-founded Wilson Asset Management in 1997. He has since also founded WAM's subsidiaries: WAM Capital, WAM Leaders, WAM Research, WAM Active and WAM Microcap.

Commenting on his appointment, 8IP chair, Jonathan Sweeney said: "Geoff will significantly strengthen the board's funds management, strategy and marketing expertise."

Joining Wilson on the 8EC board is independent director Robin Burns, former CEO and MD at Equity Trustees.
