The prestigious SuperRatings Fund of the Year Award will be announced on the night.

Lonsec will also be handing out awards in five categories with BT Investment Management presenting the Retirement Innovation Award, which recognises individuals working within the retirement sector who have done the most to enhance the experience of Australians in their retirement years.

According to SuperRatings, the Retirement Innovation Award does not focus solely on financial impact-it can be awarded to those working hard to improve financial literacy, enhance member engagement, or establish a new technology that improves the value of superannuation for members.

"This award is not simply about acknowledging familiar 'industry icons', but rather recognising the achievements of individuals in creating value for retirees and contributing to the success of Australia's superannuation system."

This year, SuperRatings and Lonsec have introduced a Career Fund of the Year Award. This recognises the fund with the offering that is best tailored to its industry sector. Commenting on the new award, Kirby Rappell, GM Research at SuperRatings, said: "We hope that this award will help to highlight funds that are well tailored for their industry sector, to help funds communicate to members about why they should take their fund with them as they change jobs through their working life, which remains a key challenge for the industry."
