What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I look forward to building upon the reputable brand of Western Asset Management here in Australia. Western is one of the largest active Fixed Interest Managers in the world with over 40+ years of history and operates in 8 countries globally. Western Asset have top quality investment managers and there lies a considerable opportunity to raise assets under management with innovative range of solutions to meet our current and prospective client's needs into the future.

What are your biggest goals for the next 12 months?

My first goal is to reach out to all of Western Asset's key domestic relationships. Western Asset has incredible thought leadership from a large bench of investment professionals which I believe could provide tremendous value to our local investor base. Moreover this year, I am really excited by introducing our range of solutions, to cater for the ever growing needs of our domestic investor base.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you've ever been given?

I have been fortunate to have had some great mentors over the course of my career, providing me with advice, guidance and support. Notwithstanding that, the best piece of advice, whilst sometimes used in a jovial context, is to know that "You have two ears and one mouth. Use them in proportion". In other words, first and foremost making sure I listen to my clients and colleagues. The consequence, long standing relationships.

What was your very first job?

My first job was working as a 'glassy' at a bar in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. I worked there for 3+ years and finished as a bar tender. Very fun, and a good way to fund a student's lifestyle.

Do you have a secret skill/hidden talent?

Even those that know me, might not know that I can play over five musical instruments (Saxophone, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, French Horn, Tenor Horn). Please do not put me on the spot though, it has been a while!

Is there a particular charity or cause that you support?

Most initiatives/charities which support mental health & depression. There are some great organisations out there, however, Movember Australia, who support numerous organisations, will typically be an initiative a Dale family member participates in annually.
