What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

The opportunity to raise the combined profile of Centric Wealth and the Findex Group in Brisbane. We are a strong team with a great business and I am very proud to be able to help spread this message in Queensland.

How have your previous roles prepared you for this role?

I have worked in the Brisbane business for 3 years and am comfortable with the client base here and the culture of the business and the city. I have held several management roles over the years, including as the Principal in Melbourne so am experienced in building and maintaining a business.

What are your biggest goals for the next 12 months?

To continue providing the high level of service and professionalism that our clients expect and to continue to be at the vanguard of the industry in providing non-aligned, non-conflicted advice to our clients - The Murray report makes it fairly clear this is where the industry is heading but we are already well and truly there, which is professionally very pleasing. I am of course also looking forward to building the team here and to providing a supportive and successful business for all stakeholders.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you've ever been given?

I've had a lot of great advice over the years, from a lot of great bosses and mentors. The best is still from my parents - be respectful, be courteous, be humble, work hard and be grateful for what you have.

What was your very first job?

My very first job was working in the kitchen at the Australian Institute of Sport - the job involved cleaning, preparing food and peeling hundreds of eggs! It was a very humbling experience for someone straight out of university and taught me lessons of humility and respect that I have kept through life. My first job in this profession was in client services for the Barrack St Sydney office of Godfrey Pembroke, working for Rick Arnheim and John Hornbrook. I very quickly discovered this was the profession for me and went back to uni.

Do you have a secret skill/hidden talent?

I love to cook and I'm not bad at birthday cakes. My children also think I'm an amazing singer, but funnily enough my career on the stage has never really taken off!

Is there a particular charity or cause that you support?

Charities that are close to my heart are The Smith Family and the Mirabel Foundation. The latter is a wonderful Melbourne based organisation that supports children who have been abandoned through parental drug use. At a corporate level I am delighted to work which such a community minded organisation as The Findex Group who are strong and proud supporters of Camp Quality, an inspirational organisation that does such wonderful work with children living with cancer.
