What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I'm excited to be part of a progressive and dynamic business led by OneVue Group CEO Connie Mckeage. She's a great visionary who's inspiring and strategic. In the past year alone, OneVue's acquired four companies and listed on the ASX.

How have your previous roles prepared you for this role?

I've worked in the financial services industry for more than 27 years. It's given me first-hand experience in service and delivery demands of the client. Additionally, I've been a client of OneVue so this combination has provided me with insights and perspectives that will be valuable as Chief Operating Officer.

What do you think will be your biggest challenge in the first 12 months?

OneVue is a leader in the disintermediation of the financial services industry. As such, I believe it'll be a challenge not to take my eye off the ball while managing and delivering promised organic and acquisitive growth for the group.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you have ever been given?

Nothing comes from nothing. My grandfather gave me this piece of advice, and whilst it seems simple and obvious, I find it a great motivator.

Would you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? And why?

Mostly an extrovert. I say mostly because I find you have to be a bit of both depending on the time and situation, though in my natural state definitely an extrovert.

What was your very first job?

I did a milk run when I was 14 years old. I was one of those guys that ran around with milk bottles door to door with the truck that had a 'moo' horn. I was playing a lot of footy and cricket at the time and it was a great way to stay fit and learn some customer service skills.

Do you have a secret skill/hidden talent?

I like writing poetry mostly about family, friends and everyday events. I enjoy the rhythm of the words and creating meaning through simple, yet powerful language. It's a great device to connect with imagination and measure that I really enjoy.

Is there a particular charity or cause that you support?

Like most people these days, my family and friends have been touched by cancer. Right now, a good friend of mine is battling a brain tumor with great courage and dignity. I'm a strong supporter of the family, friends and organisations that support people with cancer.
