Vanguard Active Emerging Markets Equity Fund

Vanguard has launched three new active funds as part of its Manager Select Series. The Vanguard Active Emerging Markets Equity Fund is managed by Wellington Management and invests in over 100 emerging market shares that capitalise on bottom-up fundamental research.

It will have a base fee of 0.88% per annum and Vanguard says it presents a good way to diversify and increase a portfolio's exposure to emerging markets with a low cost solution.

" Although we are best known for our index management, we've managed active funds at Vanguard since our beginnings in 1975, and active management accounts for about a quarter of Vanguard's global assets under management," Evan Reedman, head of product and marketing at Vanguard Australia said.
