State Street Climate ESG International Equity Fund
State Street Global Advisors has launched the State Street Climate ESG International Equity Fund, which will invest in sustainable companies and screen out industries such as tobacco and weapons.
The fund will seek to achieve capital growth and income in line with the MSCI World ex-Australia Index, subject to its climate and ESG objectives.
“A growing number of our clients are looking for climate solutions that do more than just reduce carbon exposure," Nathalie Wallace, global head ESG investment strategy for State Street Global Advisors, said.
"They also want to allocate capital to more sustainable companies generating green revenues and those actively adapting to global warming and other environmental changes.”
The fund's investment strategy will favour companies well positioned for climate change and with strong ESG ratings. It will screen out tobacco and weapons, and companies that fail to adhere to international norms in relation to environmental protection, human rights, labour standards and corruption.
“Our new fund reporting capabilities also allow our clients to have increased visibility into their ESG and climate-related exposures, as well as voting statistics,” Wallace said.
