AllianceBernstein Managed Volatility Equities - Green

AllianceBernstein

AllianceBernstein has launched a 'green' version of it's Managed Volatility Equities (MVE) fund, in which it aims to create and manage a net carbon neutral investment strategy through offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions of the fund.

The fund - dubbed MVE-Green Class - has the following three step approach to creating a carbon neutral fund.

  • 1. Calculating the greenhouse gas ("GHG") emissions from the activities of the portfolio companies.
  • 2. Seeking to reduce the GHG emissions associated with MVE Green's portfolio holdings in portfolio construction.
  • 3. Offsetting the remaining net GHG emissions associated with MVE-Green's portfolio holdings.

The Managed Volatility Equities fund (MVE) typically invests in low-volatility equities, as they represent typically low-carbon emitters, and aims to achieve returns that exceed the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index after fees over the medium to long term.
