Zhang to head research at Parametric

Whitlam Zhang has been appointed as Parametric Portfolio Associates new manager of research and strategy for Australia and New Zealand. He replaces Raewyn Williams, who will depart the business later this year to pursue other interests.

Zhang joined Parametric as a product manager in 2015 following several years as an analyst and portfolio manager with Ability Capital and Russell Investments. He started his professional career as an analyst with APRA.

Parametric is headquartered in Seattle and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eaton Vance.

Eaton Vance Management head of Australia and New Zealand Chris Briant said that the business has grown significantly over the last few years, necessitating the appointment. "In the next phase of our growth, Whitlam is critical to further developing our Australasian business. He has an intimate knowledge of the funds management industry, having consulted to superannuation funds in Australia, and has deep local subject-matter expertise. All these experiences will prove invaluable in understanding and helping clients in his new role."
