Willis Towers Watson has appointed Tony Barber as regional head of Australasia. Based in Melbourne, he will lead a newly combined team of around 700 colleagues and will focus on delivering Willis Towers Watson services and solutions to clients in Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to this appointment Barber was chair and CEO of Willis Australasia. He joined Willis in 1998 and has held a number of leadership positions, including senior client advocate, state leadership roles and deputy CEO. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1986 with New Zealand Insurance, fulfilling a number of underwriting, claims and portfolio management roles.

In a statement from the firm, Adam Garrard, Head of Willis Towers Watson's International business, said: "Tony brings enthusiasm, hard-won experience, and a strong client-first ethos to this key regional role.
