Global advisory, broking and solutions firm, Willis Towers Watson, has announced the appointment of Simon Weaver as head of Australasia, effective immediately.

Weaver’s previous role as head of corporate risk and broking (CRB), which he was appointed to in March 2018, has been merged into his new role.

Commenting on the appointment, Adam Garrard, head of International for Willis Towers Watson, said: “Simon has extensive risk management and insurance broking industry expertise and since [taking] up the Australasian head of CRB role in early 2018, he has connected strongly with clients and focused on driving business growth."

He added: "He also has a strong knowledge and understanding of our Human Capital and Benefits (HCB) segment, having managed our combined Singapore operations through and after the Willis Towers Watson merger."

Weaver said that he is excited to lead the company’s Australasia business and that he is "committed to ensuring [delivery of] innovative insights and offerings to [clients] that result in further strengthened relationships and improved business performance.”
