Willis Re shakes up executive, board positions

Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson, has appointed Cameron Green as head of their International Casualty Reinsurance practice as well as chair of the Willis Re Australian business.

Green has significant experience with the WTW business, having been with Willis Re for more than a decade in a variety of roles including executive director, COO, and CEO.

Former deputy CEO, John Philipsz, will become the new CEO for Willis Re.

Mark Morley, managing director of the APAC region for Willis Re, said, "The two executive positions will enhance the services and capabilities we provide to our clients throughout the region. At the same time, Cameron will continue to support Willis Re's strategic development in Australia and New Zealand, playing a key advocacy role for a number of clients throughout these markets."

Green said he's looking forward to the new challenge, delivering strategic support for Australian and New Zealand-based clients. "Willis Re has identified the Casualty segment as a key opportunity for its International business, and I'm excited to be able to open doors for clients in such a dynamic area of reinsurance. It is an environment characterised by continuous changing demand for coverage. Furthermore, a closer working relationship with our US business and colleagues can only be of significant benefit for our International business," he said.
