William Blair appoints new Head of Aus and NZ Insto Distribution

Global investment banking & wealth management firm, William Blair & Company, has announced the appointment of Alex Rolfe as head of Australia and New Zealand institutional distribution, effective December 2017.

In this role, Rolfe will be responsible for business development and consultant relations activities across Australia and New Zealand, and will be based in Sydney.

Rolfe has experience working with institutional investors throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. He joins from Arrowstreet Capital where he spent three years as director, head of Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he was manager, investments, at Commonwealth Bank Group Super.

Commenting on his appointment at William Blair, global head of business development and client service, Dan Charles, said: "Alex has a client-centric focus that is completely aligned with the William Blair culture, and we are pleased that he has joined our team."

Rolfe added: "William Blair has an impressive track record across various investment strategies, which I believe are well-suited for the Australian and New Zealand institutional market."

Rolfe replaces Alex Francois who left the firm in November 2017 for a role with Deutsche Bank.
