Rebecca Lim is stepping down as group general counsel and enterprise executive following nearly 20 years with the organisation, the last 10 in her current role.

During her time with Westpac, Lim worked across several legal teams including mergers & acquisitions, group corporate, and treasury. She's also been chief of staff to the CEO, and GM of St.George private clients.

Lim will step back into a part-time advisory role with Westpac.

Westpac Group CEO Peter King thanked Lim for her time with the organisation. "Rebecca has made a significant contribution to Westpac across various senior roles.

"For the past decade as General Counsel, Rebecca has played a pivotal role in navigating the company through various legal and regulatory challenges, including BBSW, responsible lending, the Royal Commission, and AUSTRAC.

"Importantly, she has been an invaluable member of our Executive Team and I have greatly benefited from her counsel and support."

Westpac has commenced a global search for Lim's replacement.
