Western Asset appoints Head of APAC (ex-Japan) Client Service and Marketing

Global fixed-income manager, Western Asset, has announced the appointment of Michael Dale as head of Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) client service and marketing, and head of the firm's Singapore office.

Dale, who most recently served as Western Asset's head of Australian and New Zealand client service and marketing - having been appointed to the role in February 2015 - has relocated from Melbourne to Singapore and will report to CEO, James W. Hirschman, and head of international client service and marketing, Rudi Otter.

Dale's key focus will be on "deepening relationships with current clients and bringing Western Asset's diversified and specialized fixed-income investment solutions to clients in Asia, Australia and New Zealand," the firm said.

Commenting on his appointment, Hirschman added: "Michael has an established track record with extensive knowledge in the industry as well as a strong network with institutional investors and asset owners across the Asia Pacific region, making him a good fit to lead the client service and sales teams from Singapore."

In a Q&A with Industry Moves, Dale said that he 'relishes' the challenges ahead.

Succeeding him as head of Australia and New Zealand client service and marketing, is client service executive, Jonathan Baird.
