APPOINTMENT
LOCAL AUTHORITIES SUPERANNUATION FUND
Date: April 2018
Position: Chair

Vision Super has announced the appointment of Geoff Lake as chair of its board, effective April 2018.

Lake, who has been the $9.2 billion fund's deputy chair since July 2014, first joined the board in July 2009 and was nominated by the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV).

He has been a councillor with the City of Monash since March 2000, and was mayor from 2002 to 2004 and again in 2014 to 2016. He was president of the MAV from 2004 to 2006 and continues to serve on the MAV board.

At Vision Super, he has replaced former chair Brian Parkinson, who stepped down from the board after over 6 and a half years' service, nearly 4 of which he served as chair.

Replacing Lake as deputy chair is Wendy Phillips, who has been a member of the Vision Super board since 1998.

Commenting on his appointment as chair, Lake said: "It's a great privilege to Chair one of Australia's oldest superannuation funds. We're a values-based fund that's positioned for further growth, and as the Chair I'm looking to innovative new ways of engaging with our membership and bringing them with us on that journey. We pride ourselves on being a community super fund, and on our ESG approach, and we have some exciting new ways of involving our members in the pipeline - watch this space!"
