Vanguard hires insurance product specialist for superannuation offering

Vanguard has hired Garry Caldow from Mercer to manage the insurance portion of their planned superannuation offering.

Caldow has a range of financial industry experience, having spent more than a decade in product, marketing, and management roles at Colonial First State. He also spent time on the pensions team at MLC.

Vanguard has been making steady progress in building their superannuation team, after appointing the head of the offering in late 2019.

In comments confirming Caldow's appointment to Financial Standard, the timing of the launch of the new super product is unclear.
