UBS AM adds to institutional sales team

UBS Asset Management has announced the appointment of Liam McDermott as a director in the firm's institutional business development team based in Melbourne.

McDermott previously spent eight years as an institutional account manager at BlackRock, in both Australia and in the UK, where his responsibilities included managing relationships with superannuation, government and sovereign funds.

Commenting on his appointment, Bryce Doherty, head of UBS Asset Management for Australia and New Zealand, said: "We are delighted that Liam McDermott is joining the UBS Asset Management and further strengthening our institutional sales team. We felt it was important to increase our presence in Melbourne and adding someone with Liam's experience to the team will ensure we continue to bring the best of UBS to Australian clients."
