TWUSUPER has confirmed the departure of employee representative director Tony Sheldon, effective 11 April 2019.
Sheldon served as the Transport Workers Union's national secretary before stepping down from the role in August 2018 to run for election as a Labor Senator. He also previously served as vice president of the Australian Council of Trade Unions and as a senior vice president of the Australian Labor Party.
The board of TWUSUPER thanked Sheldon for "his service and dedication to improve the retirement for hard-working transport workers over a 14 year period."
Michael Kaine, previously an alternate director on the TWUSUPER board, has been appointed as Sheldon's successor.
