T. Rowe Price's Australian head of distribution to retire

Murray Brewer, T. Rowe Price's head of distribution for Australia and New Zealand, will retire at the end of the year. He has been with the organisation for 14 years, setting up the Sydney office in 2006.

In a statement, Brewer said that it's been an incredible journey during his 30 years in the finance industry. "It's been a privilege to have helped recruit and mentor so many talented people who are singularly focused on putting client outcomes first."

Brewer started his career with Westpac in Perth, and worked at Lloyds Bank, AMP Asset Management, and Schroder Investment Management.

T. Rowe Price Asia Pacific, Nick Trueman, said, "It has been a privilege and honour to work with Murray and we are grateful for his outstanding leadership over the years. Murray's vision and passion for client outcomes has always been clearly evident and under his lead, Australia has grown its footprint significantly and become one of the strongest funds management businesses in the Asia Pacific region."

Trueman says they have a strong succession plan to "ensure the continuity of the great work Murray has achieved and the business' long-term success".

Brewer says that he believes that he's leaving T. Rowe Price in a good position. "As the industry continues to evolve, I'm incredibly optimistic about the future of T. Rowe Price in Australia and the invaluable role it plays with our clients in helping to inspire better retirement outcomes."
