Synchron stalwart to step back; new exec positions created
Synchron director Don Trapnell will step back from day-to-day involvement with the business to focus on his responsibilities as executive director. As a result, the organisation has undergone a management shuffle that includes the establishment of four new senior positions including a general manager of operations and GM of legal and compliance.
The business has created two heads of compliance covering policy and regulatory, and advice assurance.
In total, Synchron's headcount will increase to 49, an increase of more than 40% in the last year.
Trapnell follows the lead of his fellow Synchron director, John Prossor, who made a similar move in 2016.
Trapnell says that he believes he has the right team in place to keep the business moving forward. "We believe that collectively, the Synchron management team has the wealth of industry knowledge necessary to continue to meet ever-increasing regulatory obligations and deliver outstanding outcomes for advisers and their clients," Trapnell said.
Ian Knight has been appointed GM, operations.
Michael Jones, current head of compliance, has been promoted to GM, legal and compliance.
Synchron has yet to announce who has been appointed to head of compliance, policy and regulatory.
