ESG research and ratings provider Sustainalytics has solidified its Australian presence with the hiring of client relations specialist Jodie Tapscott.

Tapscott will lead the company's Australian institutional business development activities by helping organisations integrate ESG considerations into their investment decision-making process.

Tapscott comes to Sustainalytics from Colonial First State where she was the executive manager of corporate responsibility in the investments space. Before that, she was senior portfolio manager at AMP Capital Investors where she oversaw the governance of the firm's suite of investment and super platforms.

"Sustainable investing continues to gain significant momentum in Australia, and the region is critically important for Sustainalytics," said Sustainalytics' executive vice president of client relations, Diederik Timmer. "Jodie's appointment aligns with Sustainalytics' business strategy, which is to onboard professionals with deep experience in the field. Her in-depth knowledge coupled with her strong institutional and industry relationships will help to enhance Sustainalytics' position in Australia."

Tapscott says she chose to join Sustainalytics because of the high regard for the organisation's ESG expertise and insights. "I am proud to join a global leader in ESG research and ratings, and I look forward to working closely with our global colleagues and institutional clients to advance the field of sustainable investing."
