Workplace mental health support organisation SuperFriend has appointed AustralianSuper's Rose Kerlin as a new fund-representative director.

Kerlin has been with AustralianSuper for more than nine years. She was appointed group executive for membership in 2016.

"Rose's passion for members and deep knowledge fo the complex superannuation sector are fantastic assets for SuperFriend's Board," said SuperFriend chair and Cbus CEO David Atkin. "We welcome her strategic and practical perspectives and commitment to improving Australian workers' mental health and wellbeing."

Before joining AustralianSuper, Kerlin was the national director of campaigning and bargaining for the Finance Sector Union.

"Rose is well known in the industry for her intelligence and tenacity, and brings fantastic insights into the needs of the 300,000 workplaces her fund supports," said SuperFriend CEO Margo Lydon. "I'm so pleased to welcome her to the Board and look forward to seeing what we will achieve together."

Kerlin said she's pleased to join the SuperFriend board after watching the organisation grow over the years. "The health and economic impacts of COVID-19 are bringing renewed urgency to supporting workplace mental health and I look forward to being part of the solution."

Kerlin replaces AustralianSuper's chief risk officer Paul Schroder, who spent ten years on the board.
