SuperConcepts, AMP's self-managed super fund (SMSF) business, has announced the departure of chief executive officer, Natasha Fenech, after five years in the role.

The firm said that "having grown the SuperConcepts business to more than 10% market share, [Fenech] has taken another opportunity as a CEO within the financial services industry outside the SMSF sector."

Richard Grellman, SuperConcepts chairman, added that Fenech has "been a leading voice in the industry on regulatory issues with strong campaigns that worked to ensure favourable outcomes for the SMSF trustee and professional" and that "[she} has also been recognised by a range of industry award panels for her leadership and innovation, which further validate the critical role she has played in the SMSF sector."

In paying tribute to the SuperConcepts team, Fenech said: "It has been my great privilege to work with an exceptionally dedicated and skilled group of people who have all contributed to the success of SuperConcepts as we grew from a start-up to dominating the SMSF space."

"The five-year plan we started is almost complete and SuperConcepts is ready for fresh leadership to take it through the next phase," she added.

Fenech will depart the firm on 24 May 2019, unless a successor is appointed prior to that date.

Editor's note: On 29 January 2019, SuperConcepts announced that Adrian Urquhart has been appointed interim CEO, effective 1 February, and that Natasha Fenech would leave the firm on 28 February following a transition period.
