Super specialist joins investing fintech
Investing fintech Stake has made moves to expand into the superannuation and SMSF space, hiring super specialist Kris Kitto from Intello (previously Superfund Wholesale) as its head of superannuation product.
Stake CEO and co-founder Matt Leibowitz says that the goal is to use tech to give younger investors a simple, straightforward way to have their own SMSF. "Australia's superannuation space is still slow, cumbersome and antiquated, so we’re looking forward to building something that will challenge and redefine the space," he said. "We’re really excited to see Kris join the team, and have been driving the development of new financial products we’ve had our sights set on for some time."
Kitto spent more than five years with Intello as an executive director and relationship manager. He'd been with Superfund Partners for nearly a decade before the wholesale arm was spun off into its own entity.
"Self-managed super doesn’t need to be a stuffy domain for the wealthy and mature cohort," said Kitto. "As Aussies grab a hold of their financial health, it's time they had some transparency and choice around the 9.5% per cent they contribute to super each month. What we’re building at Stake will give them that."
