Suncorp adds CBA group executive as chief information officer

Suncorp has appointed Adam Bennett as chief information officer.

Bennett spent more than 15 years with CBA in a variety of roles, lastly group executive for business and private banking. He held the chief information officer role for retail banking and was the GM for applications and operations. His departure from CBA was announced in late 2019.

Suncorp Group CEO Steve Johnston said Bennett's track record in technology and commercial roles fits Suncorp's digitisation, automation, and data initiative needs. "Technology is pivotal to delivering our Group strategy and the operational, product and customer opportunities we are seeking," said Johnston. "I am confident Adam's deep experience equips him well to deliver significant value."

Bennett, who will join Suncorp on 1 July, said he's looking forward to taking on the technology role. "I am delighted to be joining Suncorp, a highly purpose-driven and customer-focused organisation. I look forward to working with the technology and business teams to improve the customer experience and deliver on Suncorp's strategy, leveraging recent investments in digital and data."
