Millennial-focused super fund Spaceship has announced that acting chief executive officer Andrew Moore has been appointed as the fund's permanent CEO, effective immediately.

Moore, who has more than 25 years' financial services experience, including senior executive roles with Westpac Group, St George Bank and GE Capital, previously served as Spaceship's chair and assumed the role of acting CEO in May 2019.

Spaceship's acting chair Daniel Petre said: "Andrew knows our strategy and how to achieve our ambitious plans during this early-growth phase of the company. We are delighted with the appointment, which follows a competitive recruitment process."

Spaceship co-founder and former CEO, Paul Bennetts, who stepped into the role of chief product officer in May 2019, has indicated his intention to leave the business before the end of August.

Bennetts said of Moore's appointment as CEO: "I am extremely pleased that Andrew Moore will be leading the business through its next phase of growth. I have worked with Andrew for more than 18 months, and there is no doubt he has the passion, skills and focus required to successfully build a technology-driven financial services business".
